Music video for Australian hip hop artist Urthboy’s 2020 release Sunrise in my Head feat. i.amsolo
The direction for the video was heavily inspired by the anime loops which often accompany lo-fi hip hop playlists.

The creative director of this project wrote a synopsis for an imagined, not too distant dystopian future, including several character profiles. I interpreted these in the visual design of the characters and background.
The turn around for a fully animated music video with one illustrator and one animator was tight. To combat this, the idea was to have maximum illustration and minimal animation. The planning of the background was critical - working with the animator to create small moments that could be animated and looped. Below is an early sketch.
